A spiritual excursion took place on October 17, 2026, with women involved in catechism from the villages of Pojan and Metaj. It was held with the blessing of Metropolitan Nikolla of Apollonia and Fier. The group visited St. Harallamb Church in central Saranda and St. Nicholas Monastery in Mesopotam.

Catechism refers to Christian instruction. The itinerary included two different kinds of church site: a church and a monastery. The stated aims were to strengthen Christian friendships and to make the Church’s spiritual and material heritage better known. In this way, the excursion brought together time shared among the participants and an opportunity to become more familiar with church heritage. The visits to Saranda and Mesopotam formed part of the group outing for women from the two villages. The aims encompass both relationships among Christians and knowledge of the Church’s heritage; they describe a purpose broader than simply going from one place to another. For readers new to the term, catechism identifies the participants’ church-related learning activity.
