A vigil service in honor of Saint Paraskeva was celebrated on Tuesday evening, 13 October, at Iași Metropolitan Cathedral.

The service brought together several parts of Orthodox worship: Vespers, Litany, Matins, and the Divine Liturgy. Bishop-vicar Nichifor Botoșăneanul of the Archdiocese of Iași served at the vigil alongside priests and deacons.

Liturgical responses were provided by the cathedral’s Chivot choir and by the Basileus choir of Saint Basil the Great Orthodox Theological Seminary. Their participation accompanied the prayers and hymns of the service.

A vigil is a service of prayer held in preparation for a feast or commemoration. In this case, the gathering honored Saint Paraskeva at the metropolitan cathedral in Iași.
